Casey & Randie Engaged

Randie and I had been corresponding for three weeks and just so happened to decide on the most beautiful day that this Spring has seen! I got to familiarize myself with a little bit more of Monroe, not just the 'main' street and one of my new favorite places, the Wildlife Refuge. Between these two locations we could have gone on for hours! But with the sun setting we were sure to get down to business and make good use of our time. I had such a blast with these two! Casey and Randie were so fun loving and easy going, I couldn't have asked for a more fun couple!

I absolutely LOVE this picture of Randie. I think she looks absolutely stunning!

I hadn't noticed the cow in the background until I got home and started editing. I think he/she wanted to be in the spotlight.

Hayden Turns 1!

1 is an interesting and unpredictable age to photograph. I have been very lucky with Hayden, at both her 3 month and 1 year photo's she was an angel! In fact, I don't know that she could have gotten any easier. We took 15 minutes or so to snap a few keepsakes and we honestly didn't need any more time. Here are a few that we got!

Hannah's Spring Senior Shoot

I am so excited to share these pictures of Hannah. As life long family friends I felt comfortable making a complete fool of myself and trying some new things on Hannah. It was my first sunset shoot so I got to play with the light a lot and I think Hannah was the perfect guinea pig for me! With only 30 minutes I was a little nervous but we got plenty of great shots in that amount of time. Thank you Hannah for such a fun evening and congratulations on your completion!

Amanda's Senior Shoot

I am quite ashamed to say this but it is true, I've been an Oregonian all of my life and hadn't really explored Skinner's Butte until my shoot with Amanda. Turns out I've REALLY been missing out on something amazing. The possibilities for photos were endless and we managed to get a sunny, 70 degree day. This amazing day was topped off with 3 friends of Amanda's joining us. The foursome was so much fun to hang out with. Over an hour of shooting yields a lot of pictures which makes blogging very difficult. I've done my best to choose a few of my favorite pictures from Amanda's shoot.

Amanda has SUCH striking eyes!

Some outdoor fun

I'm not sure if you've noticed but I am NOT a landscape, outdoor, macro photographer. It doesn't mean that I wouldn't love to be or that I don't appreciate those that are I just don't feel as natural or comfortable in that particular area. I do have a 15 month old that loves to be outside and now that's he's mobile and has a strong opinion about being outside, I have found myself outside a lot on the few dry days we've had! I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and work with some plants rather than humans or animals. It turns out it's a lot of fun! They hold very still, don't talk back and never blink! Here are just two pictures that I was happy to to get out of my outdoor adventure.

I patiently waited for this little bee to stop buzzing around frantically and boy am I glad I did. I really love how this turned out

I am not sure what I love so much about this picture. Maybe all of the different directions that they leaves are going and shades of green. Also, the variation in depths. Ok, I guess I just figured out why I love this photo!

4 years old!

A friend of mine knew she wanted something personal on the invitations for her daughters birthday party. She asked me to come execute of her ideas and this is what we got! SO CUTE. I took about ten pictures so that there would be plenty of options and this is the picture that was chosen, it was also the VERY first picture I took. The head cocked to the side and big grin is so her! With a Spring birthday it's only fitting to have an outdoor party complete with sand box and BBQ. The invitations that this picture was dropped into has a sand castle and girly colors all over it. I'm so excited that this idea worked out, I hope that everyone enjoys receiving an invite with such a cute little girl on the front.

15 wonderful and amazing months...

I was thinking that it's time to post some pictures of my favorite model. While he's not always in the mood to take pictures and he doesn't always cooperate he is still my favorite model. It's only okay for me to consider him my favorite since he is my son. He started out not noticing my camera, then he slowly learned to smile and I could easily catch that gummy grin, now he's smart and fast and knows that the camera means sitting still and being bribed with uninteresting things. That still doesn't stop me from chasing him down to catch some of the most fun times I've had with him yet. Here are just a few of Aiden at 15 months...

This could be one of my favorite pictures of him

Maya turns 6 months

At just 11 weeks old I took Maya's newborn pictures and now she is 6 months old and ready for another photo shoot. Actually, I think she was much more ready this time around! She definitely had a newborn agenda at 11 weeks which included lots of crying. This time she couldn't have  been happier, in fact, it was almost as if she was WANTING to have her picture taken. I'm thinking a modeling career may be in the works?

Thank you Nicole, Curtis and Maya for a fun day! I can't believe what a sweet, grown up, BEAUTIFUL little girl she is becoming.
